Windows ordered since 27 January: can you still claim?
SEAI says windows and doors ordered or started on or after the government announcement on 27 January 2026 may still qualify, if they meet the scheme's requirements and were done by a registered contractor. That includes the heat loss test after the work. Anything else isn't backdated: apply and get the offer before you start.

Free, no obligation. One registered contractor prices it, not five.

What has to be true
- Ordered or started on or after 27 January 2026.
- A registered contractor for the windows and doors.
- The scheme's requirements, including replacing single or older double glazing, and a home built and occupied before 2011.
- A Good or Very Good heat loss figure after the work, on the post-works BER.
Is your home ready for the windows grant?
Four quick taps. You see where your home stands, what has to come first and every grant on the way. Your number is only asked for at the end, if you want a price.
A semi-D with the attic done and cavity walls never filled: 1 step first, the €1,300 cavity grant, then €3,000 for the windows and up to €1,600 for two doors.
How this is worked out
SEAI's windows and doors grant needs a Good or Very Good Heat Loss Indicator on the BER Advisory Report after the work, which SEAI says an HLI below 2.3 meets. Attic and wall insulation rated Good or Very Good on your report means you meet the standard. The grants are SEAI's fixed amounts for your home type, and the doors grant is shown for two doors. The check is a guide: a BER assessor and SEAI decide.
If the attic or walls aren't done
The windows can't pass the heat loss test on their own. Get the insulation grants approved before that work starts, then the post-works BER after all of it.

Does the early-works rule cover insulation?
It's SEAI's rule for the windows and doors grant. Other grants need approval before their work starts.
